This book is a compilation of miscellaneous rhymes from Jordanian culture and way of life. The aim of this project is to preserve these rhymes and make them accessible to young parents of day. Since these rhymes were transmitted orally from mother to child many of them were getting lost due to changing lifestyles and the passage of time. The collected rhymes were categorized according to subjects and presented in three beautifully illustrated board books.

What we like about it: Culture is not only a question of language and customs. It is our way of life, the ways of thinking and the perspectives by which we live and perceive our daily lives. These perspectives translate significantly into the old nursery rhymes that we pass down orally from generation to generation. We love to discover ourselves and introduce our daughter to these nursery rhymes. Hiba Farran’s illustrations wonderfully accompany the text, including aspects of everyday Jordanian life. We recommend this book on every bookshelf. We love to promote this wonderful project.
